At the Faculty of Tourism, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, the process of forming scientific schools is taking place under the leadership of:

1. Velikochyy V.S. In 1992 he graduated with honors from the Faculty of History of Ivano-Frankivsk State Pedagogical Institute. After graduation he worked as a teacher-organizer, teacher of the secondary boarding school No1and the secondary school No12 in Ivano-Frankivsk. In 1995–1997 he was an employee of the Department of Regional Problems of the Institute of Political and Ethnonational Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University. In 1997–200 he worked as the head of the scientific department of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University. In 1999 he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences in the specialty 07.00.06 “Historiography, Source Studies and special historical disciplines” on the topic: “History of Western Ukraine: sources for the study of state building.” In April 2002, by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine, he was awarded the academic title of associate professor. In 2001–2003 he worked as Assistant Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University. In 2003-2005 he occupied the position of Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, since September 2003 – the position of Director of the Institute of Tourism and Management of the same university part-time. Since March 1, 2005 he is the Director of the Institute of Tourism of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. In 2010 he successfully defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences at the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on “Ukrainian historiography of socio-political processes in Galicia 1914-1919: conditions of formation, stages of development, features” specialty 07.00.06 – Historiography, Source Studies and special historical disciplines.
As Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University, he initiated creation of the research center for Polish studies at the university.
Its opening was included in the plan of activities to celebrate the Year of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine and took place on September 25, 2004. He is one of the authors, a member of the working groups for the development of “Concepts of tourism development in Ukraine until 2020”, “Tourism development strategies in Ivano-Frankivsk region until 2015.” Initiator of the creation in 2010 of the Research Center for Tourism Development named after Mykola Skribliak at the Precarpathian National University.
He was awarded the Order of St. Volodymyr III degree UOC-KP, the award of the State Tourist Administration of Ukraine “Honorary Worker of Tourism in Ukraine”, the badge of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine “Excellence in Education of Ukraine” (2008), Honorary Local Historian of Ukraine (2011), Corresponding Member of the Academy tourism of Ukraine (2012).

2. Kalutskyy I.F. was born on June 16, 1941 in the village of Hermakivka, Borshchiv district, Ternopil region. In 1968 he graduated from the Faculty of Forest Engineering of Lviv Forestry Institute (now the National Forestry University of Ukraine) with the degree in forest engineering and in 1993 from the Faculty of Forestry of the same university with the degree in forestry and horticulture.
He graduated from Postgraduate studies at Lviv branch of the Institute of Economics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and in 1984 defended his dissertation – Candidate of Economic Sciences.
He began his career in 1969 at Delyatyn Forestry Plant of the “Prykarpatlis” Association as an engineer, then as a senior engineer, a production manager, and a chief engineer.
In 1976 he was transferred to work as a chief engineer at Nadvirna Forestry Plant of “Prykarpatlis” Association. From 1978 to 1989 he worked as the director of Vyhoda timber plant of “Prykarpatlis” Association.
In 1989, he was elected on the position of General Director of “Prykarpatlis” on the competitive basis.
After reorganization of the industry in 1995, he was appointed as the Head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting, where he worked until 2003 before retiring.
From 1985 to 1994, part-time, the Head of the branch of the Department of Forestry Mechanization and Logging of Lviv Forestry Institute, since 1991 Associate Professor of this department. In 1999 he defended his doctoral dissertation and received a doctorate in agricultural sciences – specialty Forestry and Silviculture. Since 2000 he has been working part-time as a professor of Biology at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University, since 2003 he has been the Head of the Department of Ecology and Recreation, and in 2007 he was elected on the competitive basis as the Head of the Department of Forestry at the same university. Since 2012 he has been the Head of the Department of Tourism and Recreation, and since September 2014 he has been appointed the Head of the Department of Tourism and Local Lore. He was awarded the academic title of Professor in 2004.
Research interests – forestry and use of forests for recreation and tourism.
I.F. Kalutskyy developed scientific basis for the prevention and protection of forests from deadfalls; forest zoning was carried out on the grounds of deadfalls danger. He is the author of 102 scientific papers, two inventions, and four individual and co-authored monographs.
Under his leadership and with his direct participation, seven economic contract research topics were completed.
He received government awards (Orders of the October Revolution and the Red Banner of Labor), Laureate of the USSR Council of Ministers Prize (in the field of construction) and Laureate of the Soviet Trade Union Prize for Social Development, in 2011 was awarded the Medal of Merit for the Precarpathia.He was repeatedly elected as a deputy of regional and district councils. Excellence in Forestry of Ukraine – since 1999.
In 2001, I.F. Kalutskyy was awarded the honorary title of “Honored Forester of Ukraine” and in 2007 “Honorary Forester of Ukraine”.
He is a member of the specialized Academic Council D 35.072.02 for the defense of PhD and doctoral dissertations in Forestry and Silviculture at the National Forestry University of Ukraine. In 2013 he was elected as the Honorary Professor of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
In 1993 he was elected as an Academician of the Academy of Economics and in 2001 as an Academician of the Forestry Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He is a member of the editorial boards of the journals “Forest and Hunting Journal”, scientific and methodological journal “Mountain School of the Ukrainian Carpathians” and scientific bulletin of the National Forestry University of Ukraine, Collection of scientific and technical works, Journal “The Carpathian region. Scientific studies on history, culture and tourism”. For fifteen years he has been the Head of the regional organization of the Society of Foresters of Ukraine.

3. Klapchuk V.M. was born on January 7, 1964 in the city of Karaganda (Kazakhstan). In 1981 he graduated with a gold medal from Delyatynska Secondary School № 1 of Nadvirna district, in 1986 – with honors from the Faculty of Geography of Chernivtsi State University.
From 1986 to 2000 he worked in the Carpathian National Nature Park (1986-1989 – conservation engineer, 1989-1990 – junior researcher, 1991-2002 – Deputy Director for Research), in 1990-1991 – Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee Delyatyn village council, from January 1, 2003 to April 22, 2005 – Deputy Chairman, Chief of Staff of Nadvirna District State Administration. From July 1, 2005 – Associate Professor of Ecology and Recreation, from September 1, 2010 – Professor of Ecology and Recreation, from August 29, 2011 – Head of the Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business. Scientific and pedagogical experience – 25 years.
In 1988–1992 he studied in graduate school full-time at the Institute of Geography of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where in 1994 he defended his dissertation on specialty 11.00.04 – “Geomorphology and Evolutionary Geography” on “Stages of development of river valleys of the Upper Prut basin” .
In April 2010 at the Institute of Ukrainian Studies. I. Krypyakevych of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine defended his doctoral dissertation on “Socio-demographic problems and the economy of the Hutsul region in the second half of the XIX – first third of the XX century.”.
Since 2008 – Associate Professor of Ecology and Recreation.
Since 2014 – Professor of Hotel and Restaurant and Resort Business.
He has participated in more than 50 scientific conferences, seminars and symposia, including 6 – abroad (Moscow, Vologda, Barnaul, Tallinn, Tatra Lomnica, Zilina).
In 1999, he completed an internship in the United States (North Carolina) on environmental and recreational activities of protected areas. In February 2012 he underwent an internship at the Jagiellonian University (Krakow, Poland).
Author and co-author of 21 monographs, more than 250 scientific and 70 popular science works. He received 4 grants from foreign agencies. He has developed more than 20 scientific and applied scientific topics. He took part in the development of three self-supporting topics (1 – the head, 2 – the responsible executor), which were performed at the Faculty of Tourism.
